The new generation of PZERO Race TLR is the highest-performing tire in our portfolio, and the first tubeless technology tire manufactured entirely in Italy at the new Bollate factory. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi casing features a layer of aramid-blended compound that coats the inner layer of the tire, improving both the suppleness and resistance of the rubber. The result: a less rigid but faster tire. The compound, meanwhile, maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the rest of the high-performance tires in the PZERO range.
Compound:
Still our best chemical formulation for versatile road use, whether for racing or high-intensity cycling and long-distance leisure rides. It stems from Pirelli’s vast experience in Motorsport and collaboration with World Tour factory teams, featuring a single-compound formulation based on three different polymers, each providing opposing performances in a perfect blend of grip, speed, and reliability. The advanced blend of polymers with ‘smart’ behaviors are the key elements of the SmartEVO compound, providing grip in any weather condition and very low rolling resistance in a package also designed to withstand high mileage and rougher road surfaces. It is a high-performance chemical formulation developed for modern road cycling, from daily use to competition, even at World Tour level.
Casing:
SpeedCORE™ is an innovative tubeless-ready construction developed by Pirelli (Patent Pending) for our high-performance cycling tires, representing our most advanced TLR technology to date. Derived from Pirelli’s automotive know-how and made possible by our new production plant in Italy, near our headquarters in Milan, the SpeedCORE™ construction consists of a thin airtight layer of rubber compound infused with aramid particles. This layer covers the inner part of the tire and, thanks to the presence of aramid in the rubber mixture, allows for improved mechanical resistance, enhanced air retention, and greater overall flexibility: all contributing to the tire’s overall performance.
