It consists of 1 ball bearing (12 mm inner x 18 mm outer) and a needle bearing. LOOK axles are only validated after passing a rotation test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a 90 kg load applied to the center of the pedal and with eccentric rotation (which creates an impact on each revolution).
